The Sky Is Pink

I look up at the sun,
Thinking will I ever find the one,
I get the signal to wait,
The birds chirping,
Love is an open gate,
The sky is pink,
And the lights are blue,
The love is here,
But I can’t see you.

They say ‘Love is in the air’,
But am I breathing something different,
The couples I see everywhere,
And their hands entwined,
Their beautiful smiles,
Making someone’s day,
Even their cute arguments,
Can’t just wash away.
But for me,
All that is,
Is that the sky is pink,
And the lights are blue,
The love is here,
But I can’t find you.

Maybe there is someone waiting out for me too,
Maybe it’s too early for us to meet,
But remember that someday when I see you,
The only words I’ll whisper will be,
“I was waiting for you”,
The sparks will fly,
And there will be firecrackers,
The nights will be never ending,
The wind will sweep me off my feet.

Until then,
The sky is pink,
And I love it that way,
The lights are blue,
Changing colors between time,
The love is everywhere,
Even in the breeze,
And I can’t see you,
But will surely see you soon.
