If I had a magic wand

If I had a Magic wand,
I would be standing strong,
But as my knees shake me to the ground,
I can’t hear the sound,
Of my own heart beating,
I wish I had a Magic wand.

If I had a Magic wand,
You won’t be crying yourself to sleep,
But as the tears roll on your pillow,
You can feel the silence so long,
I wish I had a Magic wand.

If I had a Magic wand,
No one would be without a place called home,
But as they shiver at night,
Without a blanket in the cold,
They can’t feel their toes anymore,
I wish I had a Magic wand.

If I had a Magic wand,
No child would ever work,
But as they hear the sound of coins,
In their tiny hands
Thinking at least tonight,
They’d buy some bread,
I wish I had a Magic wand.

If I had a Magic wand,
All women would be safe,
But as she hide herself,
From their hungry eyes,
Wishing she would get home safe,
I wish I had a Magic wand.

If I had a Magic wand,
No grandparents would ever see,
The plain white walls of a nursing home,
But as their heavy eyes close,
Waiting for their children to come,
I wish I had a Magic wand.

If I had a magic wand,
Everyone would be happy,
But as they forget to cherish what they have,
Sadness creeps into their eyes,
Making me wish I had a magic wand.
